I wonder if you realize how many government employees are unable to view your video from their government workstation because video streaming has been disabled.

Most federal employees, at least those who work at Department of Homeland Security, are unable to view Facebook pages and Twitter from their government workstations. So, it makes it somewhat difficult to follow your social media activities from work.

Hey Blake,

We’re very well aware of that constraint. A lot of people have RSVP’d to Government 2.0 Camp using their personal emails.

That being said, this will have to be ‘after hours’ viewing for most.

What did you think of the video if you were able to see it? If not, I’d love to hear your feedback once you get to a place with some more digital freedom.

@charlie I’m not sure I understand what you’re asking.

Charlie - You are saying this should be about .gov and .mil, which I agree with, especially since that’s where a lot of my research falls. Trust me, we will have MIL and IC participants and sessions, and .gov was meant to encompass everything.
Blake - While that may be true at DHS, Facebook and other stream is actually available at many parts of the gov. It’s really a location-by-location rule. We’re doing the best we can but also everything will be archived for later viewing.

@mark he’s talking about my reference to .gov, .com, .edu and .org representation at #gov20camp in my video. I suppose i should have put .mil separately but lumped it under .gov

Well, in clicking through GovLoop 90% of the links lead to no content. If the intent is to collaborate openly, would GovLoop benefit from having a tiered publishing strategy with some actual content being available to non-members? Frankly, there’s not much available on the home page as far as content. Oh, but it does look pretty. : )

Great job with the video and the supporting infrastructure (wiki, blog, etc) to make this event work. I’m impressed and look forward to a great session.
